Standout Performers
7 of 7
Shabhaz Nadeem and Zaheer Khan Excellent in Attack
Shabhaz Nadeem and Zaheer Khan were the standout performers in a magnificent bowling performance from Delhi Daredevils, as they limited Chennai Super Kings to a fairly small target of 119 runs.
The pair set the tone early on as they allowed Chennai to score only 16 runs in their first six overs.
Left-arm spinner Nadeem conceded 18 runs in his four overs, managing a fantastic total of 15 dot balls in that time.
Zaheer was even more impressive. The left-arm pacer conceded only nine runs in his four overs and took two wickets, including the important dismissal of Brendon McCullum.
His phenomenal 19 dot balls is the most by a bowler in an IPL match.
Shreyas Iyer's Performance Belies His Years
Monday's action saw outstanding batting performances from Davids Warner and Miller, who racked up totals of 81 and 89 respectively.
While Shreyas Iyer's 70 fell short of their knocks, the 20-year-old was excellent and played a key role in Delhi's successful chase.
Per IPL's Arun Gopalakrishnan, Iyer converted the pacey balls he faced into boundaries, racking up 10 fours and a six.
Though Iyer made good use of traditional cricket strokes, the youngster was not afraid to use unconventional methods to deal with some of the trickier deliveries.
The confidence and discipline Iyer showed was brilliant for such a young player, and marks him out as a serious prospect for the future.
