Kevin Pietersen's England Hopes Boosted by Career-Best Day for Surrey
Andrew Strauss, are you watching?
Kevin Pietersen made his bid for an England return as the new ECB Director prepares to speak at Lord's on Tuesday. England need to pick a squad to face New Zealand next week by Thursday.
And Pietersen's bid to end his 15-month exile from the England squad was a resounding one.
Three hundred and twenty-six reasons for a return. And still not out!
His scintillating performance at the Oval for Surrey far and away trumped his previous best of 254 not out way back in 2002.
He reached his first triple century when he notched his 34th four.
It took him just 349 balls to meet the milestone. He also had 14 sixes at the end of the day.
And it seems as though his prolific day didn't go unnoticed, either.
Later on on Monday night, reports spread that the England brass informed Pietersen that his exile from the England team would continue.
