Lionel Messi Hits Brilliant Brace of Goals for Barcelona Against Bayern Munich

Barcelona finally broke down Bayern Munich's resistance in their Champions League semi-final through the brilliance of Lionel Messi.

Manuel Neuer had kept the Blaugrana at bay for much of the game, but the Argentine was not to be denied, first scoring from range in the 77th minute.

Three minutes later, he struck again, twisting his way past Jerome Boateng before a nonchalant chipped finish.

The two strikes also took him past Cristiano Ronaldo's benchmark of 76 Champions League goals, putting him on his own at the top of the standings with 77.

And to cap it all off, he added a late assist for Neymar to give his side a huge advantage going into the second leg.
