Angels Set Guinness World Record for Largest Group of People in Sombreros

To celebrate Cinco de Mayo on Tuesday, the Los Angeles Angels attempted to set the Guinness World Record for the "largest gathering of people wearing sombreros."

They succeeded.

The unofficial total number of people was 25,111. The fans needed to wear the sombreros for at least five minutes to enter themselves in the history books. Each fan was given a sombrero upon entering the stadium.

This isn't the first time Angels fans wrote themselves into history. They also own the records for most people wearing red wrestling masks, Santa hats, fleece blankets, cowboy hats and wigs
