5 Possible Replacements for Edinson Cavani at PSG
Paris Saint-Germain are three games away from winning their third consecutive Ligue 1 title. Whether they are successful or not, it is going to be a huge summer in the French capital.
According to Le Parisien (h/t Eurosport), Edinson Cavani has been linked with a move away from the Parc des Princes, and after scoring just 29 goals in two league campaigns, PSG could be tempted to sell if the right bid comes in.
Cavani's exit would open up a huge space in the PSG attack, one that Laurent Blanc would need to fill.
Here are five possible replacements for Cavani, should he leave PSG this summer.
Alexandre Lacazette: Olympique Lyonnais

On Wednesday, the front page of newspaper L’Equipe linked PSG with a move for Ligue 1's top scorer Alexandre Lacazette.

On the back of scoring 15 goals last season, Lacazette has blossomed further this campaign. His penalty against Evian on Sunday took his tally for the season up to 27. It’s obvious that he would be a marquee signing.
Lyon are unwilling to let the forward go this summer (in French), and manager Hubert Fournier has said Lacazette is content to remain with Les Gones. PSG will likely have to look elsewhere.
Jackson Martinez: FC Porto

One option for PSG this summer would be to replace one South American with another. According to commentator Tim Caple, FC Porto’s Jackson Martinez would be the perfect replacement this summer.

The Colombian has scored 29 goals in 39 games this season, at 28 years old, he is the same age as Cavani, but he does have the top-level experience to make an instant impact.
His contract at the Portuguese club runs until 2017, so it could be the perfect time for Porto to cash in.
Antoine Griezmann: Atletico Madrid
3 of 5
Last summer, PSG was heavily linked with a move for France international Antoine Griezmann, per Alex Richards of the Mirror, and looking at his form for Atletico Madrid, he has further improved as a forward.
This season in La Liga, Griezmann has been superb. It took him a few weeks to find his feet, but he has now scored 25 goals in 50 games.
At just 24 years old, his stock may never be higher, and there are very few French players outside of Ligue 1 playing better at the moment.
It would take an astronomical bid to prize him away from the Spanish capital, but there is little doubt it would be worth it.
Radamel Falcao: AS Monaco
4 of 5
Radamel Falcao’s loan spell at Manchester United hasn’t exactly gone to plan. The Colombian has only scored four times in 24 league appearances.
It is still unclear whether or not the English side will take up the option to buy him from AS Monaco this summer, so there have been rumours suggesting a swap deal including United to take Cavani to Old Trafford.
Sometimes, PSG can value off-field endorsements over on-field talent, and Falcao would fit perfectly into that mould.
He is still a name, he would still sell a lot of shirts, but it would be a surprise if he could match Cavani’s goalscoring record in a PSG jersey.
Wissam Ben Yedder: Toulouse FC
5 of 5
Rumours still persist that PSG will make a move for Juventus midfielder Paul Pogba this summer, per L’Equipe (h/t Daily Mail). Selling Cavani would give the French side the collateral to make a move, but they would still need to replace the Uruguayan forward.
Over the past three seasons, Wissam Ben Yedder has scored 42 goals for Toulouse FC. He is still only 24 years old, and it is clear that he is ready to take the next step from a club that is still fighting relegation this season.
The French forward is quick, mobile and has great ability with the ball at his feet. He would easily blend into PSG’s three-man attack and could play on either side or possibly through the centre.
He may not be the marquee name that PSG would prefer, but the potential he has shown with a weaker team could turn into an amazing move with superstars beside him.
