An amateur looking to break into the National Rugby League, David Andjelz is doing what he can to get on the sport's professional radar.
He's sent teams his highlight tapes for review, and, in what's essentially a rugby league cover letter, he has now posted video of himself running through a wall of bricks.
Tripleem.com spotted Andjelz’s video, made ostensibly in the hopes of landing him on the Channel 9 reality show The NRL Rookie. He makes the aggressive point that while lifting is good, it doesn’t mean much if you’re not willing to run head-on into the breach.
“All these people lifting weights,” Andjelz says. “What’s that got to do with the footy field? Yeah, it makes you better physically, but it’s what’s [in the heart] that counts.”
And then he ran through a wall of bricks, while carrying a brick.
I am not a rugby league expert or mason, so I can’t really attest to how this may translate to the sport specifically. What I can say is this guy is crazy, and you can’t undervalue that on the playing field.
Dan is on Twitter, waiting to hear your takes on how tough this guy isn’t.
