Texas Rangers Showing Giant Heart
The Texas Rangers are showing some giant-sized heart this season and showing the world they are here to stay. The Rangers are currently two-and-a-half games back in the Wild Card and four games back in the American League West with about 33 games to go. The Rangers were an early division leader in May and June and, by June 25th, the Rangers were clinging to a half game lead in the West. Most people thought the Rangers would fall to the wayside like the Royals and Blue Jays who were also early division leaders, but there Rangers had other plans. These Rangers kept fighting and kept scratching because they believed in themselves and knew they could win. Rangers Record by Date Date W L The Rangers have a schedule that puts them in position to not only go for the AL Wild Card, but also still win the A.L West. They play the Angels seven more times and have a good record versus everyone they play going forward except the Blue Jays. Team & games remaining Record vs. The Rangers took two out of three against the New York Yankees which could be a preview of the A.L. playoffs and are looking to take two out of three from the Twins as we speak. I am not sure if the Rangers will make the playoffs in 2009, but they have showed me they have the heart to compete down the stretch. They have battled all year and every day they seem to be playing with more confidence and swagger. They can be a real dangerous team in the final five weeks of the season. ©2009 The Fair Ball.
