Tottenham vs. Man City: Team News, Predicted Lineups, Live Stream & TV Info

Rob PollardMay 2, 2015

Manchester City travel to White Hart Lane on Sunday looking to continue their good recent run against Tottenham in the Premier League. City have won seven of their last 10 league meetings against Spurs, and another this weekend would see them further consolidate their grip on a top-four place.

City's back-to-back wins over West Ham United and Aston Villa have seen them recover from an awful run of form that had, at one stage, threatened their Champions League qualification chances.

Mauricio Pochettino's Spurs side desperately need three points in their bid to secure a Europa League place. They have a game in hand over fifth-placed Liverpool and would draw level on points with the Anfield club on points.

Predicted Formations

Tottenham (from): Friedel, Lloris, Vorm, Chiriches, Dier, Fazio, Kaboul, Vertonghen, Rose, Yedlin, Bentaleb, Capoue, Ceballos, Chadli, Dembele, Eriksen, Lamela, Mason, Paulinho, Stambouli, Townsend, Adebayor, Kane, Soldado.

Tottenham go into the game without Ben Davies, who has a shoulder injury, and Kyle Walker, who has a foot problem. They do, however, welcome back Danny Rose, who has recovered from a hamstring strain.

City (from): Caballero, Hart, Wright, Boyata, Clichy, Demichelis, Kolarov, Mangala, Sagna, Zabaleta, Fernandinho, Fernando, Lampard, Milner, Nasri, Navas, Silva, Aguero, Bony, Dzeko.

Yaya Toure is unavailable for the game after suffering a hamstring injury in the win over Aston Villa, and he joins Vincent Kompany and Stevan Jovetic on the sidelines.

Players to Watch

Tottenham: Harry Kane

What a season it's been for Harry Kane. He's scored 20 goals in the league this season—30 in all competitions—and has quickly become the club's most important player.

The 21-year-old has broken into the England setup and has already notched his first international goal, 80 seconds after coming as a substitute in a game with Lithuania in March.

Kane has a varied game, capable of dropping short and picking up the ball in deep positions but also of running in behind defenders and demonstrating his natural instinct to score goals.

City: Fernandinho

Brazilian midfielder Fernandinho is likely to start against Spurs after being on the bench for City's last two games. He replaced the injured Toure at half-time against Villa and added some urgency to an otherwise lethargic midfield before scoring a vital late winner.

He remains one of City's best and most consistent performers, even in a season in which he has, at times, looked tired. A draining World Cup campaign adversely affected him at the start of the season, but he's emerged once again as a key player in the City squad.

Key Battle

Federico Fazio vs. Sergio Aguero

The pace and movement of Sergio Aguero has so often caused the Tottenham defence problems in recent seasons, and Federico Fazio will have to be at his best to stand any chance of keeping him quiet in this match.

The Argentina striker has managed nine goals in six Premier League games against Spurs, a remarkable record he will be looking to improve on Sunday.

Aguero's ability to shift the ball quickly and produce explosive moments in front of goal is his defining attribute, and Fazio, whose movement isn't the best, may well struggle to contain him.

Spurs: +265

City: -105

Draw: +275
