Giannis Antetokounmpo Suspended: Latest Details, Comments and Reaction
Emotions ran high in the Milwaukee Bucks' Game 6 playoff loss to the Chicago Bulls on Thursday, and that will cost forward Giannis Antetokounmpo a game next season.
According to K.C. Johnson of the Chicago Tribune, the Greek Freak has been suspended one game for running over Bulls forward Mike Dunleavy:
As seen in this video of the incident, the 20-year-old rising star rammed Dunleavy to the ground:
Since the Bucks were emphatically ousted from the playoffs, the suspension won't take effect until the start of the 2015-16 regular season, per Alex Kennedy of Basketball Insiders:
Milwaukee let things get out of hand in Game 6 as it lost by 54 points, and that led to some ugly incidents, with Antetokounmpo's tackle standing out above the rest.
There is a great deal of intrigue surrounding the Bucks entering 2015-16 since they have a young, talented team with Jabari Parker set to return from injury. Unfortunately for them, though, they'll have to start the campaign without one of their best players.
