Kentucky Derby Betting Props: Matchups, Boxing Parlays, American Pharoah Odds

In addition to placing a win wager or perhaps boxing a couple of horses in an exacta, there are plenty of other ways for bettors to enjoy the 141st running of the Kentucky Derby from Churchill Downs on Saturday afternoon.

And along with the list of Kentucky Derby prop bets and matchups at sportsbooks monitored by Odds Shark, there are also some parlay options for boxing fans on Saturday with the Mayweather vs. Pacquiao bout on the schedule for later in the day.

Itsaknockout is a long shot for the Kentucky Derby but is available in a parlay for Saturday. The odds of the colt winning the Kentucky Derby and Floyd Mayweather winning the fight on Saturday night are at 50-1. The odds of Itsaknockout getting draped in roses and Manny Pacquiao taking the fight are at 66-1.

And if you think Itsaknockout can win the Kentucky Derby and Mayweather can beat Pacquiao by a knockout, the odds are a cool 300-1.

However, if you are not a fight fan, there are still dozens of other 2015 Kentucky Derby betting props and matchups on the board at the sportsbooks.

One bet that will likely take action is a matchup wager between American Pharoah and Dortmund, the two betting favorites for the race that are both trained by Bob Baffert. American Pharoah is listed at -140 while Dortmund is at +110 in the head-to-head matchup.

The likely third choice in the wagering is going to be the Todd Pletcher-trained Carpe Diem, currently at odds of 7-1. In his matchup against favorite American Pharoah he is at +155, while the favorite is listed at -190.

A more conservative approach are the prop bets for horses to finish in the top three at the Kentucky Derby. American Pharoah’s odds of landing in the top three are at -110, while Dortmund is at betting odds of +115.

If you think Secretariat’s record time of 1:59.40 is in danger, the odds are +1000 that this year’s winner will run faster.

Finally, if you think there is going to be a rout, there is a wager for that as well. The odds of the Kentucky Derby victor winning by three lengths or greater is at +155, while the odds are at -190 for a margin of victory of less than three lengths.
