Randy Gregory to Cowboys: Twitter Reacts as DE Is Selected in 2015 NFL Draft

Joseph ZuckerMay 1, 2015

Randy Gregory's tumble in the 2015 NFL draft has been one of the more perplexing stories of the event so far. The Nebraska Cornhuskers pass-rusher was considered a top-10 pick at one point, but he fell all the way to the Dallas Cowboys at No. 60 overall in Round 2.

Before he was selected, Gregory talked about what was going through his mind as he waited to hear his name called in the green room.

"Obviously I wanted to be drafted early. That's the main goal," he told ESPN (via Pro Football Talk's Michael David Smith). "I honestly think I'm elite. But I also have problems. I have some issues I’m taking care of, and those I think are up in the air, obviously, because I haven’t been picked yet."

Pro Football Focus provided a statistical look at the Cornhuskers star:

Drafting Gregory obviously carries some risk. Otherwise, he would've been a first-round pick.

But the reward could be the biggest steal of the draft. He's a physically gifted defender and one of the best pass-rushers in the 2015 draft.
