Minnesota Vikings 2009 Regular Season Schedule

The Vikings got the boost they needed to make the playoffs this season again when Brett Favre signed on the dotted line in August.

Sure, Favre will make a few bad plays, but you can't tell me Sage Rosenfels or Tarvaris Jackson wouldn't make mistakes in their own right.

Beyond Brett's obvious flaws, he brings the leadership and respect from opposing teams in his ability to throw that the Vikings so desperately needed. Look for the Vikings to make a Super Bowl run in 2009, as this team is built to win right now.

Below are three sections of interest that are worth paying attention to for fantasy owners coming into the season for this team. First we have listed our fantasy players who we believe are worth paying attention to this season.

Next is strength of schedule against the run, pass, and points against. Lastly, we have a few games selected that will be key in telling how this team will preform for the 2009 season.

Strength of Schedule

vs Run 6th Easiest Schedule

vs Pass 7th Easiest Schedule

vs Points Given Up 5th Easiest Schedule

It's almost not fair that a team that made the playoffs and has so much talent can get one of the easier schedules in football but the Vikings have just that.

If anyone had doubts about Brett Favre's ability to still be effective, he sure will have an easy time proving people wrong with this lineup of games.

Brett will have the seventh easiest schedule against the pass and the fifth easiest schedule for point given up by opponents.

With weak secondary and unsound play in the red zone, to stop this offense it will be easy for to convert drives into touchdowns instead of field goals.

Games of Interest

Weeks 1 - 5: In the first five weeks of the season the Vikings play four games that you would believe they can dominate. The only hard team they face will be the Packers in week four but other than that, they face the Browns, Lions, 49ers and Rams in that time.

If the Vikings can get out to a 5-0 start on the season, they will have a very good chance to not only win the division but clinch home field advantage for the playoffs. Look for Minnesota to come out swinging right out the the gates in 2009.

2009 Football Projection

This season the Vikings should be the division winners and make a deep run in the playoffs.

However with that being said they do have some teams in conference that are not that bad in their own right, as the Bears and Packers should have winning record this year.

While the Packers and Bears are good teams, if Brett Favre's arm can hold up for the entire year, I believe the Vikings will be too much to handle.
