Zach Randolph Shoves Meyers Leonard, Who Does Not Want to Tangle

Dan CarsonApr 30, 2015

Fighting Zach Randolph is not an option. You do not have the physical means or additional pylons necessary to pursue this course of action.

To tangle with Z-Bo is to invite ruin upon your house, which is why Meyers Leonard opted to stand still and wait for referee intervention after finding himself in the Memphis Grizzlies power forward’s crosshairs Wednesday night.

The two came into contact late in the third quarter. Referees whistled Randolph for lowering a shoulder on LaMarcus Aldridge, and the power f immediately headed to the sideline to seek redress with and/or hammer-throw the official.

Somewhere along the way, Leonard wandered in front of the dragon and was shoved from Randolph’s path.

To his credit, Leonard handled the situation with textbook mechanics. He stood completely motionless, knowing Randolph’s vision is based on movement.

As for Z-Bo, officials hit the center with a technical foul—putting a damper on his otherwise weird, frolic-y evening.

The Grizzlies went on to win 99-93, taking Game 5 and clinching their first-round playoffs series against Portland. They face Stephen Curry and the Golden State Warriors on Sunday.

Dan is on Twitter. When the puddle ripples, Z-Bo is coming.
