Manchester United Transfer News: Angel Di Maria Bid Expected, Latest Rumours
Paris Saint-Germain are "determined" to sign Manchester United winger Angel Di Maria in the summer and will offer £45 million to acquire his services, according to David McDonnell of the Mirror.
Di Maria set the Red Devils back £59.7 million at the start of the season, but he has struggled to consistently impress. McDonnell believes the Premier League club have "no desire to offload" the former Real Madrid man.
Frustratingly, Di Maria's potential quality is summed up by his numbers during his inconsistent spell of form. He's often struggled to play basic passes, overhit crosses and been unable to dribble beyond opponents, skills he expertly demonstrated in Madrid. However, he has produced three goals and 10 assists during 1,595 minutes of game time in the English top division, per WhoScored.com.

He averages a telling contribution every 123 minutes. Only Chelsea's Cesc Fabregas has set up more goals in the Premier League this season, per Squawka:
Even so, the 27-year-old has been stuck on the bench in recent times. B/R UK's Ryan Bailey and Thom Gibbs recently discussed his struggles:
Granted, Di Maria is excellent at playing a killer pass, but United boss Louis van Gaal needs players to effectively contribute throughout entire matches. Di Maria has struggled with a tendency to rush things this campaign—perhaps in a bid to impress—and needs to take greater care with the ball at his feet.
He'd fit right in with Laurent Blanc's PSG side. The French boss deploys a 4-3-3 formation, which sees Edinson Cavani pushed wide so that Zlatan Ibrahimovic can dominate through the middle.
Di Maria's pace would likely open up plenty of room to exploit down the channels and could propel the Ligue 1 champions to greater things. Playing him opposite the electric Lucas Moura would certainly provide Blanc's team with frightening counter-attacking capabilities.
PSG are also said to be interested in United youngster Andreas Pereira, who is out of contract at the end of the season. However, Simon Jones of the Daily Mail believes the Brazilian starlet "is poised to reject" PSG's offer and will sign a new deal with the Old Trafford club.

Pereira made his Premier League debut during March's win over Tottenham Hotspur. He is a versatile midfielder who primarily stays out wide, possessing the skill to beat a man and help out defensively. United fans can look forward to watching more of him in the near future if he commits.
Van Gaal certainly won't want to see Di Maria or Pereira head to a potential European rival. These players represent a transitioning United side on the brink of Champions League qualification. While Di Maria's quality should improve, Pereira's development promises to be majorly exciting.
Most of United's unneeded squad members have already been moved along, so Van Gaal will primarily be looking to invest during the summer.
