Boxing Odds: Manny Pacquiao vs. Floyd Mayweather Jr. Betting Props Released

OddsShark.comApr 29, 2015

With so many different ways to wager Saturday's Fight of the Century between welterweight champions Floyd Mayweather Jr. (47-0) and Manny Pacquiao (57-5-2) for the unified title in Las Vegas, bettors will have several opportunities to take big shots on tons of props with high risks but high rewards.

The most popular prop is betting a draw, with odds getting slashed in half at many sportsbooks monitored by OddsShark recently and handing them their biggest liability heading into fight night.

The draw is down to 10-1 or lower at most sportsbooks right now, and the true odds are much slimmer than that based on the past history of both fighters. Wagering on a draw not happening comes at a steeper price at 1-25, with $2,500 needed to win $100.

For those bettors willing to take a “double chance” with a prop, it is possible to wager on the result being a Mayweather win or draw at 20-47 (or -235) compared to Pacquiao at 37-20 (or +185, bet $100 to win $185).

Mayweather has not seen a draw in any of his 47 fights, and Pacquiao has been involved in two during his career—the last coming in the first of four bouts against Juan Manuel Marquez more than a decade ago.

Conspiracy theorists tend to believe the upcoming matchup pitting Mayweather against Pacquiao could lead to multiple fights between the two of them, as well, especially if the first one results in controversy. However, negotiations for this fight were so difficult from the beginning that the possibility of a rematch seems highly unlikely.

Regardless, some other props that offer huge payoffs include betting on whether Mayweather or Pacquiao will win the fight in the first 60 seconds, with a wager on each worth 125-1 (or +12500). But keep in mind, neither has done that yet.

Pacquiao has recorded six first-round knockouts with 38 knockouts overall, and the fastest taking place at the 1:04 mark.

Meanwhile, four of Mayweather's first seven bouts ended with first-round knockouts, but none faster than 1:12 and the last one in 1997. Mayweather has 26 knockouts total but only one since 2007.
