Red Wings vs. Lightning: Game 7 Live Score, Highlights for 2015 NHL Playoffs
The Tampa Bay Lightning were outplayed for long stretches, but beat the Detroit Red Wings 2-0 in Game 7 of their first-round Stanley Cup playoff series.
Both goals for the high-scoring Lightning came from defensemen on Wednesday. A third period goal by unlikely hero Braydon Coburn was followed up by an empty-netter by Anton Stralman with 1:18 left in the final frame.
The Lightning were outshot 31-17 in the game and looked like they were the more tentative team through the first two scoreless periods. But a hardworking shift on the forecheck led to a Ryan Callahan pass out to Coburn at the 3:58 mark of the third. After scoring just once in the entire regular season, trade-deadline acquisition Coburn fired a rocket over the shoulder of Detroit goaltender Petr Mrazek, who had been outstanding throughout the series.

In the end, Mrazek was outplayed by Bishop, who saved his best stuff for the late stages of the series, after the Lightning went down 3-2. The 6'7" netminder capped off his first playoff series with his first postseason shutout.
The Red Wings came into Game 7 shorthanded, missing defensemen Niklas Kronwall (suspension) and Marek Zidlicky (injury). But Detroit's breakdown came on the offensive end, when they couldn't find a way to score despite getting good chances—and three power plays—in the first two periods.
The question now for the Red Wings is whether this is the end of coach Mike Babcock's tenure, or whether he'll re-up with the team that he has employed him for the past 10 years.
For Tampa Bay, a trip back to Montreal will be a chance for revenge after being swept by the Canadiens in the first round of the 2013-14 postseason while Bishop was sidelined with injury. The series win marks the first in the NHL for coach Jon Cooper, who took over behind the bench in Tampa Bay in March of 2013.
