Clowney Participates in OTAs

Tuesday, April 28

Tania Ganguli of ESPN reported that Clowney was at the Texans' OTAs, but was not doing much in terms of participation, as expected.

Injuries limited Clowney, 22, to just four games in his rookie season, and he finished with just seven tackles and no sacks. He had surgery for a sports hernia in June, suffered a concussion in August, tore the meniscus in his right knee in the team's first game and ultimately had microfracture surgery that ended his season in December.

Suffice to say, it was a rough year for Clowney.

Still, he was a dominant defensive end during his time at South Carolina, and a healthy Clowney, paired with J.J. Watt in the front seven, could be a scary proposition for opposing offenses this season. Clowney is a freakish athlete and a natural pass-rusher who has the potential to be a disruptive force for years to come in Houston.

If he can stay healthy, that is.
