WWE 2K15: PC Release Date, Features, Trailer and More

Brian MaziqueApr 28, 2015

Finally...the WWE 2K series has come to PC.

After years of being a console-only franchise, the day that PC gamers and WWE fans have been waiting for has arrived. WWE 2K15 released on PC Tuesday, and it's a fairly impressive package.

Here's a look at the release trailer from 2K International's YouTube account:

The PC version is available via steam, and per a press release provided to Bleacher Report from 2K Sports, the in-game content mirrors the console versions. As an extra added bonus, all of the downloadable content that carried a cost for console users will be automatically included in the PC version for free.

Per the aforementioned press release, Greg Thomas, the president of Visual Concepts, the studio responsible for the game, offered this statement on WWE 2K15's release on PC:

"

WWE 2K15 for Windows PC represents another step forward for the WWE 2K portfolio as we continue expanding the brand’s content offerings to additional platforms. PC gamers who are long-time franchise fans are certain to enjoy the comprehensive and authentic WWE experience through simulation-based gameplay for the very first time.

"

There is one exception to the all-inclusive concept, and that's in regard to the inclusion of popular WWE Diva Paige. Per WWE 2K Community Manager Marcus Stephenson, Paige isn't in the game.

Paige was only available on the console version to those who subscribed to the 2K Showcase Season Pass. The program allowed gamers to receive most of the DLC for one reduced price as opposed to buying it a la carte. Since all of that content and the other one-off pieces of DLC such as the NXT and WCW packs are all included in the PC version, there's no need for a season pass, and thus no Paige.

Gamers can still create Paige or even download a created version of the former Divas champion via the community creations feature in the game. You can bet she'll be one of the most frequently created wrestlers considering she's not included in the retail roster.

Whenever a major title hits PC, it opens up a whole new world of opportunities for the game's community. Creations have long been a major portion of the fabric of the WWE gaming community. A PC version of the game should open the door to community modifications similar to what we see with 2K's award-winning PC version of NBA 2K.

Aside from introducing the series to a new consumer base, the creation of a PC version could also allow skilled modders/gamers to add their own personal touch to their gaming experience.

This could be fun.
