Nike Air Jordan 1 'Pinnacle' Release Date Schedule, Pics and Retail Price
It's taken longer than expected, but Nike's release of the Air Jordan 1 "Pinnacle" shoe is finally upon us. The latest Air Jordan release will come on Saturday, May 2.
This makes Saturday an insane day in the sports world. In addition to the Air Jordan 1 "Pinnacle" release, there's NBA and NHL playoff games, the Kentucky Derby, NFL draft and Floyd Mayweather vs. Manny Pacquiao.
Here's all of the information to get you set for Nike's latest Air Jordan shoe release on Saturday.
The journey these shoes have taken to release has been a talking point for months.
John Kim of SneakerNews.com wrote in January about a rumored release for the Air Jordan 1 "Pinnacle" happening during the NBA All-Star weekend in New York.
With the shoe release finally happening nearly three months later, there is a caveat: They are only expected to be available at the Flight 23 store in Las Vegas, per Lucas Leftfoot of NikeBlog.com.
As for what fans are getting with these shoes, the general look and design is based on the original Air Jordan sneakers released in 1985.
There are two colors fans can choose from, here is the black design, via IcySole.com:
| Release Date | Retail Price | Location |
| Saturday, May 2 | $400 | Flight 23 Store in Las Vegas, NV |
In addition to the scaly black upper, you can see the gold branding on the sides and tongue. That's important because Leftfoot's piece notes, the shoes "reportedly incorporate 24-karat gold..."
It's the perfect swag to take into the MGM Grand Garden Arena on Saturday night for the Mayweather-Pacquiao fight, if you were lucky enough to get a ticket.
Modern Notoriety posted a photo that shows off a rear view of the sneakers that includes a gold-plate "MJ23" and "1985" for flair.
It's amazing the level of nostalgia that an Air Jordan release tends to bring out in people. Some purchase the newest releases because they are collectors and like to fill out their compilation.
Others just like the look, feel and design of an Air Jordan sneaker. Whatever the reasons for wanting these items, Nike knows how to keep its audience happy.
May 2 figures to make some happy, though only if you are in or around the Las Vegas area.
