RANGERS ARE RUNNING OUT OF TIME AS TRADE TALKS COME TO A HALT!
Running out of time and missing that important piece of the puzzle. The New York Rangers have shown interest in trading with the Boston Bruins for Phil Kessel.
It is believed that serious talks between the Rangers and the Bruins have taken place . Talks that have come to a halt, and now there are other teams looking to move in on the speedy forward.
With no cap room left for Boston to sign him. Kessel is demanding 5 million . The Bruins would have to reconstruct their team to fit him in. With a little more than a month , will Boston do just that before the October dead line.

Kessel is 21 years old who recently had surgery on his shoulder. He is presently in rehab strengthening the rotor cuff and it is to be believed that he may be ready for the beginning of the season.
Kessel is a right winger who also is a first line center. He exploded last year leading the bruins with 36 goals. He also had 6 goals and 5 assists in the playoffs in 11 games.
Kessel is up for grabs right now and the Rangers would be foolish not to take full advantage of this opportunity. Phil Kessel is fast and brings a major scoring threat. His defensive skills is a bonus to everything else he brings to a team. He can play 2 positions and is extremely good at both. He is a player on his way up in his career as opposed to the washed up , or on the verge of retiring players the Rangers usually spend big money on.
The Rangers need to do whatever it takes to make some sort of deal with Boston to acquire Kessel. He is a young player who has it all and would be the perfect fit to play center for Marion Gaborik or play across from him at right wing. With the need of a first line center , Why the Rangers would cease its trade talks with Boston is just stupid.
Here the Rangers have the opportunity to take this team to a whole other level. A level that they have failed to do in many years that have come to pass. Finally, the Rangers can acquire a young , fast and an extremely good goals scorer. As a ranger fan . there is not one guy in our roster that I would be upset about losing for Kessel. With the exception of Gaborik and of course Hank. IF Glen makes this happen, I will give him GOD status as a GM and that is a lot for me to do because I truly can’t stand him.
Weather it is draft pics or players. The Rangers need to capitalize on this great opportunity!
Here is a look at the Rangers roster. This is not the lineup. But taking a look at this would give you an idea of just how badly the Rangers need a player like Kessel!
Left wings centers right wing
Avery Anisimov Gaborik
Brashear Drury kotalik
Higgins Boyle Lisin
Voros Arnason
Prospal Dubinsky
However let us just say the Rangers are done making moves this year. I doubt it! But if that was the case, all is not lost.
The Rangers have a very decent team in Hartford. Some of these players have been lighting up the score board and should be given a chance on the Rangers roster.
Here are just a few to start with. Let me know what you think.
31 year old Patrick Rissmiller . he is 6’4 215 lbs . last year he tallied 14 goals with 40 assists. He plays LW. Rissmiler has size , and for a big guy has some speed with a quick and accurate shot.
P.A Parenteau is 26 years old. Hes 5’11 195 lbs. P.A has been one of the best in Hartford for a few years now. In the 2007/08 season he scored 34 goals with 47 assists in 75 games. The prior year he played 40 games registering 15 goals with 36 assists and last year he recorded 29 goals with 49 assists.
Why this guy has been kept down in Hartford makes no sense. He is a RW and has the ability and talent to make it in the NHL. For the last 3 years every team he was on made a run for the Calder Cup and for the most part he tallied more points than games played , not only in the playoffs but throughout the regular season as well his whole career. Give this guy a chance already!
23 year old LW Dane Byers IS 6’3 200 LBS. He played 9 games last year due to injury , but in those 9 games tallied 7 points. Prior to that he totaled 47 and 46 points on the season. His best year was 23 goals with 23 assists. Size, speed and toughness there is nothing wrong with giving the young left winger a shot.
Mike Ouellette is a 27 year old center. Down in Hartford he is the first wolf pack player to ever scored 2 shorthanded goals in one game . Last year he totaled 31 points with 15 goals and 16 assists. 6’1 196 lbs he has speed and a quick shot.
There is no question that the Rangers need a player with the talent, ability and versatility Phil Kessel has. It is without question , the Rangers need a number one center. But if all else fails there may be a star in Hartford that is just waiting for his chance. After all King Hank was unheard of as well and as many others that has shown up ready to make an in pact in the NHL. I am not saying that these players match up to Kessel. But I am saying The Rangers just might be sitting on a star player.
If the Rangers are looking to develop a team for the future filled with youth , toughness , and talent, they may not have to look far. If now is not the time, Then when is?
