DeSean Jackson to Star in BET Reality Show: Latest Details, Comments, Reaction

Washington Redskins wide receiver DeSean Jackson is already a superstar on the field, but a new reality show could bolster his profile off of the gridiron as well.

According to Whitney Friedlander of Variety.com, the 28-year-old wideout will star in a show entitled DeSean Jackson: Home Team, which will focus on the women in his life:

That means eyes are always on him—waiting for him to score touchdowns and waiting for him to drop the ball off the field. Even though he has the money and the fame, DeSean's life is actually run by a core group of women including his 'momager' Gayle, his sister and assistant A'Dreea, his publicist Denise and his new girlfriend, Kayla.

After spending the first six years of his NFL career with the Philadelphia Eagles, the dynamic speedster joined Washington prior to the 2014 campaign.

Although the Redskins struggled as a team, Jackson thrived to the tune of 1,169 yards and six touchdowns. That production came in spite of a quarterback carousel that featured Robert Griffin III, Kirk Cousins and Colt McCoy.

Jackson's continued integration into the offense will have a major impact on how Washington performs in 2015.

Some might argue that a reality show could be a distraction, but this isn't an unprecedented move as former NFL pass-catchers Terrell Owens and Chad Johnson starred in similar shows during their playing days as well.

Provided Jackson continues to play like one of the league's best receivers, it is unlikely that there will be much backlash regarding his new endeavor.
