Why Eduardo? Does the reaction fit the crime

Wednesday night, an ordinary night, nothing exceptional occured but yet the press was swamped with the name of a player who has never recieved so much attention even when he was so brutally hacked down 18 months ago.

Eduardo surges into the area, the goalkeeper recklessly rushes out, eduardo gets a touch before the goalkeeper, the goalkeeper realises this and tries to pull out of his challenge, eduardo goes down. PENALTY!

Was it a dive? Was he touched? Well video replay suggests that he was not.

Does this make eduardo a cheat? No! he did not feign injury and with the way the goalkeeper came out he was entitled to go down rather than wait for the impact of the challenge, especially considering what happened the last time he hung around for a rash challenge.

Lets be clear about this incident it was by no means a blatant attempt of diving. Given the circumstances tell me one player who would not have gone down? Week in week out referees constantly tell players to get on thier feet, numerous penalty appeals turned down. Are they all cheats?

Either they all are or they are not. It is disgraceful to single out one player, and to tear apart his character. Gerrard did not get this treatment in a blatant incident, it was simply the influence of foreigners that affected poor little Steven.

UEFA today undermined thier credibility by charging eduardo, now forcing them to do the same to every player who goes down in or outside the box, whoever claims a throw in when it is not thiers and player who handles the ball without immediatly halting play to award the opposing team a penalty or free kick. Clever move!

If they do not there will be a clear case of discrimination against Arsenal and Eduardo. 

As for the press last season it was Fabregas who was hung in the press for spitting despite the fact thier was no evidence

This season it is the turn of Eduardo, Arsenal fans have every reason to believe that they have been and will continue to be treated unfairly by the press the FA and UEFA
