After Paris Saint-Germain’s elimination from the Champions League to Barcelona on Tuesday night, it is back to league duty on Saturday as they take on a resurgent Lille side in what is a must-win game for both teams.
PSG are level on points with Lyon, but they have a game in hand against struggling Metz. Lille are looking to make a late charge towards the Europa League places, but it is still no more than a slim hope of overhauling Bordeaux and Montpellier.

Lille has no new injury problems going into Saturday’s game. Divock Origi started on the bench for the 2-0 win over Bordeaux, but with the form of Sofiane Boufal and Nolan Roux, it will be interesting to see if Rene Girard looks to find a space for the Liverpool loanee.
Captain Rio Mavuba is suspended for the game in Paris, which should see young Adama Traore return to the starting XI—he has been a revelation for the club since breaking through this season.
The strong defensive line is Girard’s key weapon. They build from the back, and the back four has looked much more consistent now that they have found a constant unit ahead of the superb Nigerian goalkeeper Vincent Enyeama.
There is better news for Laurent Blanc this week, as he confirmed that Thiago Motta would be in the squad for Saturday’s game. The Italian midfielder is fit to come into the midfield, but club captain Thiago Silva continues to miss out.
Zlatan Ibrahimovic is still suspended, and Blanc said at Friday’s press conference that the away side would have a slight advantage due to their freshness following PSG’s heavy schedule of late.

On a season-long loan from Manchester City, Marcos “Rony” Lopes has enjoyed a very encouraging season for Lille.
He is the type of player that gets fans on the edge of their seat whenever he gets the ball. Something is going to happen, the Portuguese under-21 playmaker is at least going to try to attempt something positive.
Two injuries have hampered his season, and then a red card against Saint-Etienne saw him miss three games. He returned on Sunday against Bordeaux and looked his bright, creative self.
Lopes is the man that drives Lille forward, his determination and positivity makes a stark difference to the way this team played. The Parc des Princes is the ideal stage for him to show what he is capable of.
After signing in January, it has taken Sofiane Boufal a few months to find his feet in Ligue 1, but the former Angers man has now started to produce for his new club and looks like an excellent signing for Lille.
On Saturday, Boufal will likely play beside Nolan Roux in a two-man attack, putting him up against David Luiz on the right side of the central defenders.
As the Franco-Moroccan is not a traditional centre-forward, and more of a winger, he will have the chance to pull Luiz out of position and ask more questions of the Brazilian defender.
