The match had plenty of action and was received with mostly positive reviews on Twitter:
"Aside from the outcome, that was an incredible Tag Team Championship Match. #ExtremeRules

The international pairing of Kidd and Cesaro had been the class of the tag division since winning the straps more than two months ago. They defeated all comers, including three teams at WrestleMania 31.
The New Day were among the losing tandems on the Grandest Stage of Them All, but they established themselves as the new No. 1 contenders on Raw. Kingston and Big E defeated The Lucha Dragons by countout thanks to some help from Xavier Woods on the outside.
There is no question that Kofi, Big E and Woods have undergone a transformation of sorts since WrestleMania 31. The vocal crowd at the Showcase of the Immortals and the ensuing Raw was less than supportive of The New Day and their positive attitude.
In fact, rather than clapping along with the group, the fans decided to chant, "New Day sucks," which has caught on with the entire WWE Universe as a whole.
Many have gotten a great deal of enjoyment out of it, including Cesaro:
The New Day members haven't reacted quite as well, though. Ahead of Extreme Rules, Kingston believed that fans should embrace them rather than mock them:
Woods agreed and declared that the triumvirate was doing the best it could to entertain the audience:
All that did was cause the fans to dislike them even more, which was undoubtedly part of the game plan. WWE and The New Day have done a great job of embracing the hate, and it has led to a subtle heel turn with all three Superstars employing heel tactics here and there.
Thanks to the definite improvement in terms of character progression, The New Day were given a huge victory Sunday, and they are now the team to beat in WWE's tag team ranks.
It can be argued that WWE's tag division currently leaves something to be desired in terms of depth and storyline development, but it contains many excellent in-ring workers, and that was on full display at Extreme Rules.
The two teams meshed well together and put on a highly entertaining match, which bodes well for the prospect of tag team wrestling improving in WWE.
Kidd and Cesaro proved to be excellent flag bearers during their stint as tag champs, and while their momentum was temporarily halted at Extreme Rules, it is likely that their feud with The New Day is only just beginning.
While tag team wrestling isn't always a primary focus for WWE, if it can manage to build upon what happened at the pay-per-view, Kidd and Cesaro against The New Day could be a solid rivalry moving forward.
