Antoine Griezmann's Hairstyle Emulated En Masse in Madrid, 'Griezmannia' Is Born

Since his summer arrival at Atletico Madrid, Frenchman Antoine Griezmann has been a revelation for last season's La Liga champions. 

His 20 goals in the league are only trailing a couple of moderately well-known commodities in Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi.

His landing at the Vicente Calderon is having unforeseen effects, too: His hairstyle is sweeping Madrid. 

"Griezmannia" has hit the town by adoring Atleti fans who are emulating his, er, "unique" hairstyle.

According to AS (h/t Who Ate All The Pies), Griezmann has been a trendsetter in the hair world, trumping even the likes of David Beckham's legendary mane. 

"David Beckham is the most imitated footballer ever, though all his styles were already done and he just asked for them the next day," salon owner Miriam Martinez told the paper. "Griezmann is different—he creates the trend.

"This cut did not exist until he did."
