Kansas City Chiefs- 2009 NFL Regular Season Schedule- Printable- Downloadable

Matt Cassel was traded to Kansas City and signed a big contract to be the Chiefs starting for a long time. Soon after the team signed Matt they traded away his best target in Tony Gonzalez to the Falcons.

If the Chiefs are to turn things around and have a winning season this year their defense and offensive line will need to be much improved over last season.

Below are three sections of interest that are worth paying attention to for fantasy owners coming into the season for this team. First we have listed our fantasy players which we believe are worth paying attention to this season.

Next is strength of schedule against the run, pass and points against. Lastly we have a few games selected that will be key in telling how this team will preform for the 2009 season.

RB. Jamaal Charles
WR. Dwayne Bowe
WR. Bobby Engram

Strength of Schedule

vs Run 15th Hardest Schedule

vs Pass Third Hardest Schedule

vs Points Given Up 11th Hardest Schedule

Like most of the AFC West the Chiefs will have a very hard schedule on paper against the pass this season. This preseason the coaching staff and Dwayne Bowe started off on the wrong foot as Bowe was placed on the third string receivers list for the first game against the Texans.

In the second week Bowe was back against the Vikings and played well with Cassel in the first team offense.

If the Chiefs are going to have success this season in the passing game Dwayne needs to break out and be the great receiver his talent suggest he can be. Not only that but they need other veteran receivers like Bobby Engram and Amani Toomer to help out as well.

Games of Interest

Week One vs Ravens: The Chiefs offensive line will be tested right away as the team travels to Baltimore and plays Ray Lewis and the Ravens week one. If the Chiefs can put out a good showing in their first game it should be a confidence builder for the rest of the season.

Weeks 15 and 16: Most fantasy teams are in their playoffs during these particular weeks and the Chiefs will get a good opportunity to help fantasy owners at this point of the season. In these two weeks Larry Johnson and the offense will get to play the Bengals and Browns. Look for strong days as your team makes a run for a fantasy football title.

2009 Football Projection

Look for Chief players to suffer from inconsistency this season as Matt Cassel and the rest of the offense build chemistry together. Kansas City also needs to prove that they are finally turning their pores defense in the right direction. Until the defense starts to come together expect this team to continue to play below .500 football.
