As reported by Dominic King of the MailOnline, the English midfielder is ready to commit until 2020, putting him in line for the captaincy when Steven Gerrard departs for Los Angeles Galaxy at the end of the season.
Liverpool are yet to offer official comment, as reported by the Press Association (h/t PFA.com).
Many doubted Henderson's quality when he arrived from Sunderland in 2011, but the 24-year-old has developed into a leader for the Reds. His industriousness provides vital legs in central midfield, where a defensive midfielder such as Joe Allen or Lucas Leiva will sit while Henderson hunts possession.

He has proved to be creative this season, scoring six goals and assisting eight others in 31 Premier League appearances, per WhoScored.com. Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers has also been able to lean on Henderson's reliability on the right flank when needed.
Henderson is likely to become even more important once Gerrard leaves. His ability to drive the team forward can already be considered a vital part of the side's play.
Liverpool fans will be hoping his reported decision to extend his tenure will inspire contract rebel Raheem Sterling to do the same.
