'Scheduled' Tweet for Liverpool FA Cup Tickets/Gerrard Birthday Goes Viral

A Liverpool spoof account had great fun at Steven Gerrard and the Reds' expense after the team were knocked out of the FA Cup in the semi-finals.

Poking fun at the sense of narrative around the Wembley final taking place on Gerrard's birthday, the account blamed a "pre-scheduled" tweet for the cheeky message.

@OfficialLFC (despite the name not the official Liverpool account, it should be stressed), posted the message: "TICKET INFO: Be there on HIS birthday for HIS final LFC game. FA Cup final ticket info announced tomorrow."

It took plenty of people in—this writer too—and went viral in its own right as the realisation set in that Gerrard may have played his last meaningful minutes for his club before joining the LA Galaxy this summer.
