WWE Superstar of the Week for April 18
The annual Extreme Rules pay-per-view is upon us, and it looks like it will have a pretty stacked card of matches with various stipulations.
At least four titles are set to be defended, with Tyson Kidd and Cesaro the only champions not yet scheduled to put their championships on the line.
Several Superstars have done great work leading up to the post-WrestleMania PPV, but only one can be the Superstar of the Week.

Fresh Backstage WWE Rumors 👊

Modern-Day Dream Matches 💭

Most Likely Backlash Heel/Face Turns 🎭
Honorable Mention: Fandango
For the first time in what feels like forever, Fandango is relevant. He not only ditched his dance partner, Rosa, but he brought back his old theme song.
The fans in the United Kingdom unanimously supported this decision by raising their arms and Fandangoing with the newly minted babyface.
In his first match since his face turn, Fandango showed some real promise. He performed some risky moves and definitely had the crowd on his side.
However, Fandangoing was always more popular in Europe, so the real test will be to see how the fans everywhere else react to him as a good guy.
He has all the necessary physical attributes to be a great wrestler and more than enough charisma to pull off the gimmick. It's up to WWE to give him a storyline that will allow him to thrive.
All Fandango really needs is a chance to succeed. His gimmick could be quite popular with the younger generation, but it's how he is booked that will determine if he excels or if he ends up fading back into obscurity.
Honorable Mention: Bad News Barrett
When WWE goes overseas, management puts a lot of effort into showcasing stars from the countries they are visiting.
Bad News Barrett was treated like a hero by his compatriots, and WWE made the right move by not having him play the heel and trash his fans from across the pond.
It's unlikely he will turn babyface because of the reactions he got during the tour, but he stepped up nonetheless and performed very well on both Raw and SmackDown.
His match against John Cena on Raw was one of the highlights of the night, and the way he knocked out the Miz within seconds on SmackDown was hilarious.
Barrett is such a talented wrestler. It might be a good idea to see how he does as a babyface soon. He can obviously play to the crowd, and we have never gotten a chance to see him be the good guy outside of England.
Barrett is just one of several British stars who had good showings this week. Hopefully management will soon realize how valuable he is and put him in more matches with top stars.
Superstar of the Week for April 18: Sheamus
Sheamus returned following WrestleMania 31 with a new look and an attitude similar to the one he had when he first debuted almost six years ago.
The time off definitely helped him get a little of his groove back, but it was turning heel that really gave him the boost he desperately needed.
Not only did he attack Neville and Dolph Ziggler on Raw, but he put Neville through the wringer on SmackDown, eventually getting himself disqualified.
The DQ finish helped Neville in that he wasn't made to look weak by losing to another top star, but it also helped the Celtic Warrior even more because it established him as the brutal villain he needs to be.
Most of the heels in WWE are portrayed as cowards. Seth Rollins hides behind the Authority, the Miz cheats to win and Big Show is a shell of his former self.
Other than Rusev and the part-time Brock Lesnar, there was nobody who was viewed as dangerous. Sheamus is the perfect man to fill that role because he is believable when he plays the character.
It's not just his heel tactics that make him the Superstar of the Week. He also had the best match on SmackDown. Against the right opponent, Sheamus can steal the show, and that is what he did with Neville.
The sky if the limit for Sheamus now that he is back to his evil ways, and it would come as no surprise if he was back in the hunt for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship by the end of the year.
What do you think? Was Sheamus the Superstar of the Week? Who would you have picked if not him?
