J.J. Watt Fires Agent Ben Dogra: Latest Details, Comments and Reaction

Tim DanielsApr 17, 2015

Houston Texans defensive end J.J. Watt reportedly fired Ben Dogra Friday, one of two agents he was working with, but he will likely retain Tom Condon.

Darren Heitner of the Sports Agent Blog passed along the news about Dogra, who also serves as a representative for Minnesota Vikings running back Adrian Peterson:

A reasoning for the split wasn't included in the report.

Watt signed an eight-year contract extension with the Texans last summer. The deal, which contained more than $50 million in guaranteed money, links him to Houston through at least the 2021 NFL season. He will be 33 by the time it ends.

The monster contract didn't do anything to decrease his motivation. He finished last season with 78 tackles, 20.5 sacks and four forced fumbles. He also contributed four touchdowns, one on defense and three on offense while playing tight end near the goal line.

Whether Watt will look to replace Dogra with another agent or simply move forward with Condon as his main representation is unclear.
