Blind Starting vs. Everton
Sunday, April 26
Manchester United announced Blind was back in the starting lineup against Everton.
On Friday, manager Louis van Gaal told reporters that Blind was doubtful to play against Everton, according to the team's official Twitter feed.
On April 17, the club passed along injury updates from Van Gaal, confirming Blind was among the players who would be forced to miss the Chelsea clash but didn't note the exact nature of the ailment:
Mark Froggatt and Adam Marshall of the club's official website provided comments from the United boss, who explained how the injury occurred.
"They are all from the game against Manchester City. Blind has played on because he always wants to play on, but the tackle from [Vincent] Kompany was of course the reason," Van Gaal said.
Blind has provided much-needed versatility for United during the campaign. He's played both in midfield and along the back line.
