Standout Performers

Virender Sehwag Powers Kings XI Punjab Early
Virender Sehwag's 47 ultimately came to nothing for last year's finalists, who lost six wickets in the last 6.1 overs after a promising start.
Combining with Murali Vijay before forming a strong partnership with Wriddhiman Saha, the 36-year-old displayed fantastic patience against Delhi's seamers and strong defensive work against the spinners.
Sehwag's 47 from 41 and Saha's 39 from 28 should have laid the foundation for a solid score, all but ending Delhi's chances of breaking their losing streak. But instead, the players in the bottom of the order let down their team-mates.
On current form, Punjab look a far cry from last year's dominant outfit that reached the finals, but Sehwag's strong performance at least gives cause for optimism.
Mayank Agarwal, Yuvraj Singh Win It for Delhi Daredevils
Delhi's bid to avoid a 12th consecutive IPL loss seemed dead in the water when JP Duminy was freakishly run out, colliding with bowler Axar Patel, who brilliantly ran the South African out.
But the duo of Agarwal and Singh turned things around in two short overs, blasting Punjab's bowlers to all parts of the ground in the 15th and 16th. Agarwal managed 16 runs in the 15th before his partner added 13 more to boost the Daredevils' required run rate
Both ultimately fell victim to Anureet Singh in back-to-back deliveries, but with victory well within sight, Angelo Matthews stepped up and scored the winning runs on the final delivery.
Matthews deserves all the credit for coming through when it mattered, but he wouldn't have had the chance to do so if it weren't for the earlier partnership of Agarwal and Singh.
