Michael Malone Interested in Magic Job
Wednesday, April 15
The Magic will undoubtedly explore all avenues as they attempt to bring in the right person to guide their young roster, and there is at least one candidate who is hoping that Orlando shows some interest.
According to Brian K. Schmitz of the Orlando Sentinel, former Sacramento Kings head coach Michael Malone would like to become the next head man for the Magic:
"Yes, I'm told that former Sacramento Kings coach Michael Malone "would love to coach" the Orlando Magic.

Malone served as the Kings head coach for the entire 2013-14 season before getting fired after an 11-13 start in 2014-15.
He was a longtime NBA assistant coach before that stint with the Kings as he was part of coaching staffs with the New York Knicks, the Cleveland Cavaliers, the New Orleans Hornets and the Golden State Warriors.
The Magic are very similar to the Kings in that they are largely inexperienced, but they have plenty of raw talent. Malone couldn't get Sacramento over the hump, but he apparently believes he can get the job done with Orlando.
It remains to be seen if the Magic will reciprocate his interest, but it is certainly an option worth looking into because of his experience.
