Chelsea Transfer News: Latest on Nathan and Oscar Deals, Paul Pogba Swap Rumours
Chelsea are set to officially unveil the signing of Atletico Paranaense youngster Nathan on Wednesday, as reported by Ian Ladyman and Jack Gaughan of the Daily Mail. It is suggested the Blues have beaten Manchester City to the 19-year-old, who will cost £4.5 million.
Ladyman and Gaughan's article indicates Nathan passed a medical on Tuesday and can feature in Jose Mourinho's first-team next season. However, Jack Wilson of the Daily Star expects him to join Chelsea's many talents currently developing out on loan.
Alex Harris of the Daily Star translated a tweet said to be from the player, which reads: "Very happy!!! London to sign my contract with Chelsea and do tests. Thanks to all for the care and reception." The original tweet can be seen below:

Either way, the deal looks set to be concluded soon. Nathan is an attacking midfielder by trade, but he is used to dropping out wide to the left. He can also play as a secondary striker. You can view the player's quality below:
Nathan has made 11 appearances for Atletico Paranaense, per Harris, but he has excelled on the youth international scene, recently scoring five and assisting five in as many appearances for Brazil under-17s, according to Transfermarkt.com.
Although Nathan will join a host of Brazilian players at the club—Oscar, Willian, Filipe Luis and Ramires among them—his arrival could be followed by the departure of one countryman.
According to Italian publication Tuttosport (h/t Jamie Anderson of the Daily Star), Mourinho is looking to use Oscar in a swap deal for Juventus' Paul Pogba.

Oscar's role has become somewhat cloudy this season. His all-round quality has improved but focus on improving the defensive side of his game has seen his attacking flair subside. The 23-year-old has six goals and seven assists in the Premier League this campaign, but he has started just 24 matches, per WhoScored.com.
Anderson suggests Oscar could significantly cut into Pogba's alleged £72-million valuation. This would ease Chelsea's UEFA financial fair play worries and allow the club to minimise their outgoings when trying to land one of the sport's most sought-after players.
A host of elite sides are expected to compete for Pogba, per B/R UK's Ryan Bailey and Jonathan Johnson:
Chelsea have no shortage of talented youngsters, so it's likely any arrivals will be met with a player leaving at the end of the season.
With starlets such as Isaiah Brown, Dominic Solanke and Patrick Bamford still on the books, Nathan will need to excel to make a quick impression.
