San Diego Padres: Mr. Moorad, We're All Counting on You
With the Padres going into their first full off season under new owner Jeff Moorad, I thought this would be the perfect time to write my own letter to the brand new owner and just say, no pressure Jeff, but we're all counting on you.
Mr. Moorad,
Thank you for buying the San Diego Padres. Thank you for finally giving the Padre fans some glimmer of hope as we head towards the 2010 season.

Yankees Call Up 6'7" Prospect 📈
We apologize for automatically assuming that you were no better than the team's previous owner, John Moores. We thought you were going to be the same kind of cheap owner who didn't know what he would do during the draft, wouldn't spend money on the right players and wouldn't allow his front office to make this team better.
There was still a lot of skepticism going into the 2009 Amateur Draft because us as fans thought it was going to be no different than previous seasons. We all thought you and your front office would only draft players that would be "signable," because that's what we had been used to in years passed.
But, you proved us wrong thankfully. You drafted guys that Moores never would and, not only that, but you got them all signed and into the Padre organization including the team's number one draft pick Donavan Tate.
Though we assumed the worst, you have delivered hope to fans that have been without hope in this team for the better part of 11 years. There's new found hope in this ball club and new found optimism that us fans haven't seen in quite some time and that is a great feeling.
Keep doing what you're doing and building this team into the championship team, just like you did as a part of the Arizona Diamondback organization. You have my appreciation and optimism as a fan. I look forward to seeing how this team progresses in the years to come.
So, Jeff, we're all counting on you....no pressure!
Sincerely
The Padre Fans
