Seth Rollins Should Continue Causing Tension Within The Authority

Donald WoodApr 13, 2015

Winning the WWE World Heavyweight Championship at WrestleMania was a monumental moment in Seth Rollins' career, but the new face of the company needs to continue causing tension among the members of The Authority.

For weeks, Rollins has been teasing dissension with Kane and Big Show, but Big Show's victory in the Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal has taken him off The Authority's bad list. On the other hand, Kane's continuing to lose and putting Rollins in a title match at Extreme Rules could be grounds for even more tension.

Add the fact that Rollins called for Kane to step down, and when Triple H and Stephanie McMahon return next week, there is little doubt Kane will suffer backlash from the leaders of The Authority.

The key for WWE Creative is to make Rollins looks strong as champion after winning in a weasel way. He can be a heel who cheats to win—it fits his character—but giving him the unwavering support of The Authority will make him look like an unbeatable champion.

Rollins has already acted as the top heel in the company during the extended absences of former champion Brock Lesnar, but now he has the championship to warrant complete backing from the people who make the decisions.

Their embodiment of the future for the company is the present champion. The Authority will want to keep him in power, and if Kane isn't on board 100 percent, then a change in direction is a necessary evil. The same goes for Big Show eventually.

A change would allow for newer and stronger heels to join the group and strengthen Rollins' support system, making him look even stronger. With the heel duo of Sheamus and Bad News Barrett possibly replacing Kane and Big Show, The Authority would be one of the most dangerous stables in WWE history.

Imagine Sheamus and Barrett wining tag team gold and Rollins holding the world title.

This storyline must be about Rollins looking like a weasel champion who is surrounded by the strongest group in the company. Look no further than Ric Flair being a heel champion the Four Horsemen protected to see how Rollins could be booked with members of The Authority fans dislike for storyline reasons but enjoy as performers.

If Rollins eliminates both Kane and Big Show from The Authority by continuing to cause dissension, he will look like the true leader of the group and could infuse the new blood the stable desperately needs.
