Twitter Reacts to Manchester United's Throttling of Manchester City

Sean SwabyApr 12, 2015

Manchester United laid waste to "noisy neighbours" Manchester City on Sunday at Old Trafford by a dominant 4-2 scoreline.

With just a point separating the two between third and fourth place in the Premier League entering the match, there were massive implications for both halves of Manchester.

Sergio Aguero opened the scoring for City after just eight minutes to cap a furious start for the visitors. Mario Balotelli got in on the commentary for his former club:

Only, Manchester United equalised shortly after the Liverpool man's tweet via Ashley Young.

Marouane Fellaini put the hosts ahead in what was a wild, end-to-end exciting first half.

Vincent Kompany was hauled off at half-time after a disastrous first-half that saw him luckily avoid a red card for a dangerous tackle on Daley Blind.

Juan Mata made it three for Manchester United, although it appeared as though the Spaniard was offside.

Nevertheless, Mata and Fellaini scoring had to be some measure of redemption for former manager and whipping boy David Moyes.

From there, things spiraled out of control for Manchester City and under-fire manager Manuel Pellegrini, as United went ahead, 4-1, through Chris Smalling.
