Willingham's 21-15 and Weis's 22-15 ..So Where is the Beef !

So where is the improvement?

After three years the comparasing is dead even.

You can add the 2008 7-6 season to coach Weis record at Notre Dame and you still have to ask:

where is the beef !

After the fanfare and the wagging of the dog so the firing of Ty Willingham won’t become a public relations nightmare, is there some questions that still needs to be answered?

Was a coaching change that has produced a record of 29-21 a mistake ?

Is that a fair question to ask ?

Was three years a fair shot for coach Willingham to put a program together ?

Did coach Weis benefit from Ty Willingham's recruiting ? Lets look further into that question.

During Coach Weis first two years his records were:

In 2005 9-3

In 2006 10-3

A record of 19-6 with what I presume are coach Willingham’s recruits.

Is that a fair assessment ?

Lets look further.

In 2007 3-9

In 2008 7-6

A record of 10-15 with what I presume is coach Weis’s recruits.

Again, is that a fair assessment?

Please understand I’m not making judgments, at least not yet, I’m just asking questions.

Lets be honest, a 29-21 record was not what Notre Dame was looking for, agree?

So let me ask, how long will the powers to be at that great school let coach Weis walk the sidelines ?

Would you say Ty’s and Charley’s road at Notre Dame is fallowing the same path, a mediocre career?

Please understand , I’m not asking about other successes or failures , I’m just talking about their Notre Dame stay.

Opinions are personal but numbers don’t lie my dear friends , 2+2 is 4 no matter what continent your in, the first three years of this coaches careers at Notre Dame are exactly the same.

Mediocre at best, at least from what we understand ND football should be.

My question of conclusion.

Why was Ty Willinghan fired ?

Oh I see, maybe it was that 21-15 record that apparently is unacceptable by the Irish fans.

But wait! coach Weis was 22-15 his first 3 years, I guess one game improvement is huge in college football.

Or not , It's so confusing!
