Gomis Out for 4 Weeks
Thursday, April 16
Swansea's official Twitter confirmed that Gomis would spend a month on the sidelines as a result of his latest fitness setback.
On Saturday, Gomis tweeted a message of support for his teammates:
Gomis left the pitch following an apparent hamstring problem against Everton on April 11, per the club's official Twitter account:
The striker had been leading the line well since Wilfried Bony joined Manchester City back in January. The choice of Marvin Emnes to replace the 29-year-old was a curious one.
A talented but temperamental Dutchman, Emnes hasn't scored a goal in 11 Premier League appearances this season, per ESPN FC. Emnes is not really a natural striker; he's more effective from the flanks or in a supporting role.

Still, manager Garry Monk opted against introducing 23-year-old Portuguese forward Nelson Oliveira. Without a powerful presence through the middle, much of Swansea's approach play will be wasted.
Gomis' absence will be felt.
