UNDER 9.5 Tampa Bay Rays/Toronto Blue Jays:
Nice pitching matchup tonight in game two of this three game set at Rogers Centre. Last night, the runs were aplenty as Tampa Bay beat up Roy Halladay en route to a 12-7 win. Tonight should be more of a pitchers duel, given the way these two starters have been going of late.
James Shields (7-10, 4.81) goes to the mound for the Rays, looking to get an elusive win. As you can see by the numbers, he is having a nice season, but for some reason, the Rays don’t score much for him. Shields always gives an honest effort, usually pitching deep into a ballgame. This should benefit the Rays bullpen, who had to work overtime in last night’s high scoring affair.

10 Scorching MLB Takes 🌶️

Yankees Call Up 6'7" Prospect 📈
Rookie Lefty Brett Cecil (5-2, 4.58) is starting to establish himself as a legit part of the Jays future. Cecil has been thrust into this role due to a plethora of injuries to the rotation and has done a nice job. Cecil is 2-1 with a 3.34 ERA in his last 5 starts, including an impressive 7 inning, 1 run outing in a win over these same Rays on July 26.
OVER 9.5 Chicago White Sox/Boston Red Sox:
The battle of the Sox continues tonight at Fenway after the Red Sox got the upper hand with a 12-8 win last night. Boston’s lineup is the best it’s been all year, and the addition of vicotr Martinez has really given them a boost in the 4 hole. Big Papi and Jason Bay are back to their old selves and I think the Red Sox are about to go on a big run. Mark it down.
Freddy Garcia (0-1, 10.38) makes his second start of the season for the White sox tonight and he was simply awful in his first outing. He’s working his way back from injuries and is trying to re establish himself in the rotation. Chicago will need him down the stretch as they trail Detroit by 3 in the AL Central.
Jon Lester (10-7, 3.58) has been pretty good this year, although inconsistent at times. He’s been much better on the road of late, in fact in his last home start he allowed 4 runs on 7 hits in just 5 2/3 innings vs. Oakland on July 30. Boston will most certainly win this game, but pencil in Chicago for at least 3-4 runs. The Red sox will do the rest against Garcia. Good luck!
