The J.R. Smith Renaissance Continues with Videobombing of Kyrie Irving Interview

Dan CarsonApr 9, 2015

Like a peacock remembering how to fly, J.R. Smith has become J.R. Smith again in Cleveland.

The former New York Knicks shooting guard is flourishing in his role as the Cavaliers’ eternally green-lit triple-slinger, and he’s having fun in the process, which is the most important thing of all.

Gone are the days of sad J.R., and now we are blessed with gifts such as Smith’s videobombing of Kyrie Irving after Wednesday night’s 104-99 road win over the Milwaukee Bucks

Irving stopped for a quick word with Cavaliers sideline reporter Allie Clifton. In no time, Smith entered the frame. The omnipresent Vinny Viner posted video of the stunt. Smith posed, flexed and ended the routine with a dry willy—cleaner cousin to the uncool wet willy.

If the move bothered Clifton, she didn't let on.

As for Smith’s night, he finished the game with a plus-six plus/minus and 12 points. He shot 2-of-8 from three-point land to help the Cavs officially clinch the No. 2 seed in the Eastern Conference and the Central Division title.

He’s definitely back.

Dan is on Twitter. He understands his place in a world where shooters keep shooting.
