One Direction's Niall Horan to Caddie for Rory McIlroy at Masters Par 3 Contest
While Tiger Woods is using his children as his caddies for the 2015 Masters Par 3 Contest on Wednesday, Rory McIlroy is using someone a bit older—and more famous.
McIlroy has decided to use fellow Irishman and One Direction star Niall Horan as his caddie for the event.
-Update on April 12
It looks like Rory is going return the favor and sing at a One Direction concert.
More from the Golf Channel:
"As part of their deal, McIlroy will now have to sing on stage with one of the world’s most popular bands when they play Gillette Stadium in Massachusetts on Sept. 12, according to a report Sunday by Golf Channel’s Todd Lewis.
"
-End of Update
That's a lot of star power on one team.
This pairing came about after the two ran into each other in Australia last year.
"He's been excited to come here," McIlroy said, via ESPN.com's Jason Sobel. "He's never been to the Masters. I caught up with him in Australia at the end of last year and he was really excited, and I said, 'If you're available Wednesday afternoon and you want to carry the bag for nine holes, you're more than welcome.'"
McIlroy is already the No. 1 golfer in the world but probably just earned himself quite a few more fans.
