Michael Sam Comments After 'Dancing with the Stars' Elimination

After becoming the third person eliminated from the 20th season of Dancing with the Stars Monday, NFL defensive end Michael Sam was gracious in defeat.  

The 2014 seventh-round draft pick of the St. Louis Rams had nothing but good things to say about his participation in the hit television show:

Also, while the former Mizzou standout was cut in the early stages of the competition, he felt as though he performed well, according to Access Hollywood (via Tobias Salinger of the New York Daily News): "I thought my last dance was my best dance. And I would like to leave on my best dance instead of my horrible dance."

It is unclear what the future holds for Sam, but the 25-year-old pass-rusher doesn't intend to stop pursuing his dream of becoming an NFL player.

Per Arash Madani of Sportsnet, Sam didn't rule out the possibility of playing in the CFL during the 2015 season after a subpar performance at the NFL Veteran Combine:

Now that Dancing with the Stars is out of the equation, one can only assume that Sam will take his next step under consideration in the very near future.

Playing in the CFL may not be an ideal scenario for him, but it could be the best path in terms of giving himself a chance to play at the highest level at some point down the line.
