Calling True or False on 5 Recent Juventus Transfer Rumours

Adam DigbyApr 7, 2015

Despite the fact there are almost three months before the transfer window reopens, rumours of possible deals continue to fill the news on a daily basis. All across Europe, various outlets are constantly breaking stories of potential moves, making it increasingly difficult to separate fact from fiction as each comes to our attention.

The speculation is always strongest around the biggest clubs, meaning Juventus are often at the centre of many of Italy’s gossip columns as their plans for improving the squad are endlessly discussed. Linked with a vast array of players both at home and abroad, it is almost impossible to escape the chatter concerning the Bianconeri.

While it is impractical to break down every single story, over the following pages we look at five of the most recent transfer rumours connected to Juventus, attempting to see just how much truth there is to each.

Oscar to Join Juventus?

1 of 5

The international break seems to always see speculation intensify, and it was no different this time as the Bianconeri were linked with a move for Chelsea midfielder Oscar. According to a report from TuttoMercatoWeb (h/t Metro), Juventus have made signing the Brazilian “a priority” this summer at a cost of around £30 million.

Even allowing for the possibility Jose Mourinho would allow him to move, given that the €20 million deal that brought Alvaro Morata to Turin remains the club’s record outlay under the current regime, it is almost impossible to see such a move being sanctioned.

Paulo Dybala to Arrive in Multiple Player Deal?

2 of 5

Juventus are reportedly set to make an offer of €25 million plus a number of players in exchange for Palermo striker Paulo Dybala. Now hugely admired after a breakout season, the Argentinian star is believed to want to remain in Italy, with the Bianconeri seen as front-runners for his signature.

That has led TuttoSport (h/t Football Italia) to speculate that the Turin club would send defender Edoardo Goldaniga, midfielder Luca Marrone and striker Kingsley Coman to Sicily, in order to secure the 21-year-old.

Dybala suits Juventus in numerous ways, and it is not difficult to see him making the move north this summer, but it is unlikely any deal would involve so many other players going in the opposite direction.

Falcao to Swap Manchester United for Juventus?

3 of 5

With Manchester United clearly not intent on keeping Radamel Falcao, the striker has now become a rumoured target for Juventus. AS Monaco are also intent on moving the Colombian out of the club, leading L’Equipe to suggest he could join the Bianconeri on loan with an option of a permanent deal next summer.

The French newspaper (h/t Forza Italia Football) claim such a deal would suit all parties, but with a plethora of strikers already at the club—plus stakes in young talent like Sassuolo’s Domenico Berardi—it is unlikely the 29-year-old will be a part of Massimiliano Allegri’s squad anytime soon.

Simone Zaza Rejects Tottenham Hotspur for Juventus?

4 of 5

According to Liam Corless of The Daily Mirror, Simone Zaza has rejected a move to Tottenham to remain in Serie A. He believes the 23-year-old will join Juventus, instead of taking a more lucrative deal to move to White Hart Lane as the Bianconeri will exercise their option to buy the Sassuolo striker.

Given that the Turin club hold Zaza in high esteem, this seems highly likely and it would be no surprise to see him join them once the current season ends.

Carlos Tevez to Paris Saint-Germain?

5 of 5

Carlos Tevez has emerged as a target for Paris Saint-Germain, according to reports in France, despite the fact the striker is widely expected to return to Boca Juniors when his contract expires in the summer of 2016.

However, according to French newspaper Le Parisien (h/t Football Italia), the reigning Ligue 1 champions are preparing to make a €15 million offer for Tevez should Ezequiel Lavezzi opt to leave them in June.

Given that Tevez is Juve’s leading scorer and a regular match-winner for the Bianconeri, it is hard to imagine either the club—or indeed the player himself—being lured to the Parc des Princes.
