NFC EAST Preview: Eagles-Giants Class Of The NFC

Garry VoltaireAug 24, 2009

Eagles 13-3: Best Off-season pick up: Jason Peters

Despite the injuries and the terrible start in the pre-season. I feel this team is ready for a championship run. McNabb has the weapons to lead this team. But with 3(Brian Dawkins, Jim Johnson and Stewart Bradley) big losses on the defensive side of the ball. I see this D dropping but this team is good enough to go without them. The Eagles will get home field in the playoffs.

Giants: 12-4: Best Off-season pick up: Chris Canty

The Giants, have the best D-line in the NFL (on paper) and in my opinion on the field. With the additions of Chris Canty and Rocky Bernard that adds more depth on that line. The problem is at wide out. Since the loss of Burress the Giants passing attack faded, this year it’s time for the  those guys to step up and play up to new heights. In my opinion the Giants have a bunch of NO.3 maybe 2 receivers, and but they are just good enough.

Cowboys 10-6: Best Off-season pick up: N/A

The Cowboys are a sound team good enough to compete for a wild card spot. They have a solid O-line with a dominate running game. The key is that defense, if they can play up to the level as they did with Ellis and Canty this team will be in the playoffs. Also the development of Austin Miles and Patrick Crayton will be key.

Redskins: 5-11: Best Off-season pick up: Albert Haynesworth

This team is going to have a bad year. Jason Campbell has lost complete trust in his coaching staff and that’s a big thing. Santana Moss isn't going to have any help at the receiver position. The O'line is old and has some holes. The only strength is that D-line. But other than that this team is in shambles and won't be productive.
