Borussia Dortmund vs. Hoffenheim: Team News, Preview, Live Stream and TV Info

Stefan BienkowskiApr 5, 2015

Jurgen Klopp's side may be out of the Champions League and have little hope of regaining some much-needed honour in the Bundesliga, but they still hold a fighting chance of picking up the German cup.

In their way stands a Hoffenheim side that have stumbled of late and will certainly go into Tuesday night's game as something of an underdog against the former German champions.

Markus Gisdol's side is full of unquestionable talent throughout the team. Yet, with just two wins in their last five games, confidence is low and expectations for this quarter-final even lower.

Expected Lineups

Although we may have seen Dortmund in defeat on Saturday, Klopp is unlikely to change too much of the team that faced Bayern, with Roman Weidenfeller welcoming a back-line of Sokratis Papastathopoulos, Mats Hummels, Neven Subotic and Marcel Schmelzer.

Similarly, we should see Ilkay Gundogan and Sven Bender keep their place in the middle of the pitch. Nuri Sahin could be back at training any day now and may even make it on to the bench for Tuesday, but it's almost entirely unlikely that he'll start.

Up front, we should then see Kevin Kampl keep his spot on the left, with Jakub Blaszczykowski on the right and Marco Reus through the middle, while Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang takes his place up front.

For Hoffenheim, we'll see Oliver Baumann in goal, behind a back four of Andreas Beck, Tobias Strobl, David Abraham and Jin-Su Kim.

In midfield, we can expect to see Sebastian Rudy as the holding midfielder, with Roberto Firmino and Nadiem Amiri filling out the midfield trio. Steven Zuber should find himself once again on the left, with Kevin Volland on the right and Sven Schipplock as the lone striker.

Key Players

Kevin Kampl

Although Kampl has only just arrived in Dortmund, we can expect to see him start and terrorise the Hoffenheim defence from the outset Tuesday night.

The Slovenian international may not be at his most comfortable and deadliest as of yet in the black and yellow, but he certainly offers more than an out-of-form Reus and still not 100 percent fit Blaszczykowski.

Roberto Firmino

There are very few constants in the Bundesliga these days; but if there's one thing that's for sure, it's that Firmino is undoubtedly Hoffenheim's best and most deadly player.

The Brazilian international already has eight goals and 10 assists in all competitions this season (via Transfermart) and will be hoping to get the better of Bender and Gundogan on Tuesday night.
