The Reds trailed the Gunners 3-1 and were in dire straits at that point, but Can heard it from the Arsenal faithful regardless, per Henry Winter of The Daily Telegraph:
After the match, Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers defended Can, according to Rob Harris of the Associated Press:
Losing the German youngster during Saturday's match wasn't significant for Liverpool, since the match was already decided, but it could pose an issue moving forward.
As pointed out by James Pearce of the Liverpool Echo, Can's disqualification means he will miss Wednesday's FA Cup quarterfinal replay against Blackburn Rovers:
The Reds have solid depth and the ability to vary their formations, but being without a player of Can's caliber certainly isn't ideal.
It will most definitely test manager Brendan Rodgers. However, with Liverpool clearly boasting more talent than Blackburn, the expectation remains that they will advance to the FA Cup semis.
