Michigan Spring Game 2015: Date, Start Time, TV Schedule, Live Stream and More
The first survey of the Jim Harbaugh era at Michigan occurs Saturday at Michigan's Spring Game.
After a 5-7 campaign, the culture in Ann Arbor received a facelift with the arrival of Harbaugh, whose changes will be put under a national spotlight Saturday when Team Blue encounters Team Maize.
For the first time in a long time, the spring game will be a competitive affair, too, after the new coach became creative with the process in the buildup to the event.
Below is what fans need to know about the beginning of a new era.

Preview

This one will be different.
The promise was made upon Michigan's announcing Harbaugh's hire back in December. Since then, he's captivated Wolverines' faithful in a number of ways, whether it be helping car-crash victims or amassing more than 212,000 followers on Twitter.
The spotlight extends to Saturday, where Associate Athletic Director Dave Ablauf tells Max Cohen of The Michigan Daily the game could expect "between 35,000 and 50,000 fans" and "75,000 fans wasn’t out of the realm of possibility."
Last year's spring game? Just 15,000.
Of course, the 2014 iteration featured mostly just warmups and drills. Not this year—Harbaugh held a private spring-game draft the Saturday before the actual game, where coaches picked rosters similar to the NFL draft.
The process was similar to what Harbaugh did at Stanford. Defensive coordinator D.J. Durkin coaches Team Maize, his notable players including safety Jabrill Peppers and quarterback Alex Malzone.
Offensive coordinator Tim Drevno heads Team Blue, featuring quarterback Shane Morris, cornerback Jourdan Lewis and linebacker Desmond Morgan.
For four 10-minute quarters with two-minute breaks and a five-minute halftime, the competitive iteration of the spring game will decide much about the future of the roster.
As far as on-field action goes, quarterbacks steal the show. With Devin Gardner out of the picture, junior Shane Morris, redshirt freshman Wilton Speight and the freshman Malzone will compete for the starting gig before recruit Zach Gentry and possible transfer Jake Rudock arrive in the fall.
Malzone, who has a strong shot to steal the starting job, took to Instagram in preparation of Saturday's event:
Also of note is the battle at receiver one year removed from Devin Funchess leading the team with just four touchdowns. More pressure than ever falls on Amara Darboh, who caught just 36 balls last year.
The biggest storyline outside of quarterback goes to Peppers, though. He appeared in just three games last season but is back to full strength. As Durkin told Mark Snyder of the Detroit Free Press, the plan is to use Peppers all over the field:
"We played him at a lot of spots. He can play anywhere in that back end for us. We're going to play him where we need him, based on what our game plan is, who we're facing, what the matchups are. We'll get him, as well as the other guys, where we need them, where they can have the most success.
"
Where and how the coaching staff uses perhaps the best player on the roster will be a focal point.
If it isn't apparent, the spring isn't meaningless any longer for Michigan football. Sure, the starting quarterback may not be on the roster just yet, but with Harbaugh in charge, Saturday will be much more than warmups.
In what may be a big-game environment, Michigan football prepares to usher in a new era with Harbaugh in charge Saturday.
