Houston Rockets big man Joey Dorsey is a career 38.4 percent free-throw shooter, and this season's 27.9 percentage is his all-time low. On Thursday against the host Dallas Mavericks, he demonstrated just how poor of a shooter you have to be to earn those kinds of numbers.
In the first quarter, his team trailing 18-12, Dorsey went to the line and proceeded to find nothing but air on the first attempt. He got slightly closer the second time—and it was still way off.
The "Hack-a-Dorsey" approach is not a new idea for opposing teams, and it's easy to see why.
