We catch a real good number here as this total does not line up with what we have on the mound for tonight. After a huge run on the ‘Over’, Oakland cooled off over the past week as five of its last seven games stayed ‘Under’ and that is part of the reason we get some good value on Monday. The pitching was the main reason for the low scoring output for the A’s as they held opponents to three runs or fewer in five of those games but that will not be the case tonight. One of those games that did not see three runs or less came with Vin Mazzaro on the mound as they allowed seven runs in that game to the Yankees. Since tossing a quality game back on June 18th, his fourth in a row, he has gone 11 straight starts without throwing another one while posting a 6.95 ERA and a whopping 2.10 WHIP. His season numbers are now 5.31 and 1.73 respectively while his numbers on the road have gone to 5.22 and 1.68 respectively. The ‘Over’ is 5-1-1 over his last seven starts. Seattle has gone ‘Under’ in two straight games and it is 7-4-1 in its last 12 games as the offense has found a rut. The Mariners have scored three runs or fewer in nine of those 12 games but the bats should see some life tonight against Mazzaro. Ian Snell will be making his fifth start for the Mariners and he has been up and down since coming over from the Pirates. After posting a 5.36 ERA and 1.62 WHIP for Pittsburgh, he has put up a 6.63 ERA and 1.74 WHIP for Seattle and at home, those jump to 13.50 and 2.73 respectively in two starts at Safeco Field. Oakland is hitting .291 over its last 10 games against right-handed pitching and the ‘Over’ is 10-2 in the A’s last 12 road games against a right-handed starter. Meanwhile the ‘Over’ is 4-1 in the Mariners last five home games against a right-handed starter and the ‘Over’ is 8-2 in their last 10 games after allowing five runs or more in their previous game. 3* Over Oakland A’s/Seattle Mariners
